My Focus

There is a vital relationship between our mind, body, emotions, and spirit ~ and my approach in counseling is to work with you toward a balance of these, to help you find Hope, Healing and Wholeness.

You see, life is a journey and often there are obstacles, unexpected difficulties, stresses, or even tragedies.  At times we get discouraged and overwhelmed, we feel alone or hopeless, and sometimes the burdens weigh us down so much that we begin to experience such debilitating symptoms as clinical anxiety or depression.

It is my mission to listen, comfort, encourage, teach, and create an alliance with you so that you can begin to “rewrite your story.” I am ready to partner with you to face and work toward overcoming the issues holding you back from living your best life.

I come with a Christian perspective – that the Bible is God’s Word and is filled with hopeful promises which will address your needs; that prayer is real, and that a close connection with God or Higher Power can transform your life.  But I absolutely will respect your preference if you are not comfortable with spirituality at this time.

Background

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas but got to Austin as soon as I could ~ came here for the University of Texas and never left!  I have a son, 39 and a daughter, 36, husband Gary, four grandchildren (with a fifth one due in May 2024!) and two mini dachshunds.  My favorite activity my husband and I do together is being part of our church praise band, Such As These.  I enjoy singing, reading, teaching women's Bible studies, and spending time with family and friends. Becoming a counselor has been a dream and calling of mine since before high school and I am so thankful that I am able to fulfill this now.

I look forward to getting to know you.

When we weave together the human and the divine, we are attentive to another story that is not completely our own, a narrative that has the power to transform.                                  ~  Herbert Anderson
